WSD Difference
While studying bike fit on hundreds of female cyclists, we learned that women exert approximately 25 more force on their lower backs than men when in the same riding position. This is due to the design of the female pelvic structure. Most women are uncomfortable while riding because they are too stretched out on the bike often leading to shoulder pain, lower back pain, and numb fingers.WSD bikes create a more natural riding position for women by balancing their weight more evenly between the hips and the hands. This is accomplished by bringing the handlebars closer to the seat/saddle. Ultimately this creates a slightly less aggressive riding position for comfort without sacrificing the power efficiency.
Additionally, achieving the right balance between the hands and hips gives female cyclists more control when cornering and handling.
StaminaWSD geometry centers your weight over the bike, reducing the pressure on your hands while shorter reach break levers alleviate hand fatigue.
EnduranceWSD geometry has a shorter top tube and narrower handlebars alleviating sore shoulders and stiff neck muscles.ComfortWomen's Specific geometry and saddles allow you to sit comfortably on the saddle with your seat bones, reducing the pressure on the pubic bone and soft tissue. This in turn allows your legs to relax and increases your power output.
PowerAddressing a women's pelvic structure and riding position, the WSD geometry provides optimal power and comfort by shortening the top tube and offering a slightly less aggressive riding position.
