As of July 2018, Strava shows Calories as they were provided to us from upload partners. If not value is sent, or you record with the Strava mobile app, we use our own calculations.
3rd Party Calculations
There is a wide range of different algorithms and inputs that can be used to estimate Calories. We recommend contacting the 3rd party for specifics on what data they use to estimate Calories.
Unlike Strava's own calculation, changes to your Strava weight and activity elevation will have no effect on Caloric total.
Changes to settings in 3rd party accounts may not be reflected in Strava.
Hi, The Strava route builder currently works fine as a tool to draw routes, but there are many other route builders that offer similar functionality. Strava however has the data available to make the Strava route builder by far the best tool. To achieve that the following functionality could be added.
1- altitude profile: the altitude profile is visible while building the route but if I send the route to a Garmin EDGE device than the altitude profile is missing; this should be fixed.
2- ability to enter average speed in the routebuilder to have a reference wile riding it as course on a Garmin Edge, even better would be if you could enter: avg speed on flat and VAM for climbs. (http://www.bikeroutetoaster.com has this functionality, Garmin Connect has this functionality but only based on avg speed.
3- Ability to include segments as course points in the route. It would be very nice if you could check segments in the segment explorer and the start and finish point of these checked segments would be included in the TCX files.
4 Ability to include segments and a ridden result of these segments as a virtual partner in the route. (Garmin advertises similar functionality as the key feature of the EDGE1000, but this works only with Garmin Segments.) Many other Garmin Edges have the ability to ride against a virtual partner and to reset that virtual partner during the ride. If you would create a course based on an average speed but with one segment with actual ride data you can ride against this virtual partner data on the segment even if your trip to the beginning of the segment took much longer or shorter than planned. The Race shape website has done part of the work for you, the only thing that needs to be done is to replace the track data of a segment with the data which is generated on this site: http://strava-tools.raceshape.com/vpu/ Maybe the people who made this want to help you?
I hope to find this functionality soon in your route builder, if it happens it will be a real killer!
BianchiPeter schreef: ↑10 aug 2018 21:27 Ik ben een beginnend Strava gebruiker dus vergeef me mijn onwetendheid.

:Upload failures and Delays with Activity Editing
August 05, 2018 19:24
We are experiencing issues that may cause the following:
Upload issues. We are working on implementing a fix but we're still experiencing periodic issues. Any failed uploads will slowly be reprocessed. If your activity still hasn't uploaded after 24 hours, please try resyncing (see below) or reuploading your activity by file.
- Group matching delays.
Delays in segment effort updates.
Activity edits taking a long time or stalling.
Segments not showing up at all or not completely on activities.
Cropping activities taking a long time.
iPhone Uploads: Resync your activities by pulling down the activity feed.
Android Uploads: Your activities will be resynced automatically throughout the day.
3rd party Uploads (like Garmin Connect, Movescount, TomTom, CopyMySports, etc): Your activities will be resynced automatically throughout the day.
