Nou zie ik ook niet echt tegenstand van wereldformaat bij de eerste tien maar dan nog een sterk optreden.

De toppers lijken even rust te hebben. Maar als je bij een Spaanse ploeg rijdt, willen ze ook wel dat je acte de présence geeft. Volgens Annemiek op haar eigen site is het vooral de bedoeling elkaar "te vinden" tijdens de wedstrijden. En daar lijken dit soort wedstrijden prima voor.

Hoeveel ploegen worden er wel niet gesponsord door dat bingoal?

Het is sowieso een wirwar. In het veld heten ze Pauwels Sauzen-Bingoal maar op de weg Bert Containers-Pauwels Sauzen. Dan heb je nog Bingoal Casino - Chevalmeire Cycling Team en Bingoal-WB Ladies. Maar goed zo sponsort Doltcini ook meerdere ploegen om nog te zwijgen van alle Roodhooft-rensters die dan juist weer één ploeg zijn verdeelt over meerdere shirtsponsors. Geen idee trouwens waarom de Plantur dames niet meededen (de wegploeg van Roodhooft).

De organisatie kreeg een 40-tal aanvragen om deel te nemen.
Bijgevolg kon niet iedereen starten.
Voor veel rensters, vooral van de clubteams, was het de allereerste wedstrijd van 2021.

I'm feeling blessed, happy and extremely proud, to tell you all, that I have been selected for the Olympics in Tokyo 2021!

I can tell you, those last weeks I was trying not to think that much about a possible participation - at least that's what I thought - but when I got the phone call from our national coach, I was so happy, and I realized that this is something big in my life!

True my whole life - so far - I met so many inspiring people! I learned something from everyone and also because of them I became the person I am today.
I am thankful to have my boyfriend: who always believes in me! For my parents: who always teach me to work hard for everything! For my brother and sisters: I always felt responsible as a big sister, to show them that it is possible to do the impossible! My Grandpa, who always told me when I was a little kid, that I had his blood and that he was always the best in everything, so that you had to believe in yourself!! For my trainer, who believed from the first moment, that I was able to win big races!
But I also want to say thanks to my trainers from the past, who always where there in there free time on the ice skating rink, they showed real passion for sports! They even drove us on holidays to the Mont Ventoux, to ride our bikes there! I'm thankful for my friends, who understand and support that I am not always able to go to party's and who always watch my races.
And last but not least for you, fans, who always hoped for more, like I always did and will keep on doing.
