As part of its ongoing commitment to customer safety and satisfaction, Mavic has announced a voluntary recall of its R-SYS front wheels as a precautionary safety measure.

Mavic has identified that the carbon tubular spokes of the R-SYS front wheel may break during use in certain circumstances and causing the rider to lose control and possibly fall, potentially sustaining injury.

All models of Mavic R-SYS front wheels are concerned (R-SYS, R-SYS test, R-SYS Premium), whether purchased separately or as part of a bicycle. The wheels must no longer be used.

Consumers should immediately return their front wheel to a Mavic dealer; and a new upgraded R-SYS front wheel will be delivered free of charge. This exchange will start from 31st of March 2009. Until this date, and to facilitate the continued use of your bicycle, Mavic will offer a set of Aksium wheel that customers will keep after they have received the replacement R-SYS front wheel.

Goed om te zien dat R-Sys eigenaren dus een setje Aksiums voor nop erbij krijgen, altijd mooi meegenomen

He he heeft wel een tijdje geduurd zeg.. net na de introductie waren er al gevallen van "exploderende" R-Syssen, en dat was 1,5-2 jaar geleden?

Je koopt dus slechte wielen voor rond de 900 euro, en krijgt er nu gratis een betere set bij van 150 euro?

heeft idd lang op zich laten wachten. ze kunnen ze beter gewoon uit de markt halen, wanproduct.

Ben benieuwd hoe lang we nu om de reactie van MSpoon moeten wachten met z'n geliefde wielen

Zoso. Heeft ff geduurd voordat ze bij mavic wakker zijn geworden. 2 jaar na de introductie van deze mislukte wielen toch een recall:) Joehoe!.

Nog maar eens bevestigd: Campa forever!!!

Dit vind ik wel een mooi gebaar van mavic om iets ter compensatie te geven voor het geleden ongemak. Ik zal die aksiums met open armen ontvangen. Een paar trainingswielen komen echter altijd wel ergens tot hun recht.

Ik ben benieuwd wat de prijzen worden van de 2e hands aksiums in het voorjaar.

Hoi,

Het is op z'n minst vreemd te noemen dat alléén het voorwiel wordt vervangen .
Immers als je door je achterwiel zakt ga je toch ook op je teut !?
Een volledig nieuwe set R-Sys is hier méér op z'n plaats lijkt mij.

Is er misschien een advocaat in de zaal ?:D
